Conditions for entry in the register

You can register as a jobseeker if you are:

  • employed,
  • self-employed,
  • housekeeper,
  • pupil, student or
  • otherwise inactive.

What do you get by registering?

We can only actively support you in your job search if you are registered.

EU citizens and foreign nationals

You can be entered in the register of jobseekers if you meet the conditions of registration and you are:

  • a citizen of a Member State of the EU, European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein) or Switzerland,
     
  • a foreign national of a third country (not a member of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Swiss Confederation), provided you are legally residing in Slovenia – you must meet this condition throughout the period of your registration in the register of jobseekers.

Where and how to register?

Register with the local employment office of your choice. It makes sense to choose the office in the area where you will be looking for a job, or the one closest to where you live.

You can apply by filling in an application form to be entered in the register of jobseekers. You can submit the application online or in person.

Online

You can submit your application electronically at the PoiščiDelo.si portal.

Take advantage of online submission:

  • without a digital certificate

    Using a server signature, which requires an email address and a mobile phone number.
     
  • with a digital certificate

In person

You can apply yourself or by proxy at the local employment office where you are registering.

You can fill in the form assisted by a staff member at the registration counter.

Alternatively, you can download it from our website, print it, fill it in, sign itby hand and bring it with you.

Registration as a jobseeker

Do not forget your photo ID to be presented for inspection.
