Registration with the ESS
By registering with the Employment Service you increase your chances of finding a suitable job, and you enable us to actively support you in your search.
Conditions of registration
To register with the Employment Service, you must meet the conditions set out by law.
Depending on which conditions you meet, you can register either as a jobseeker or unemployed person.
Register of jobseekers
As a rule, you register as a jobseeker if you are employed, self-employed or in education and want to get information about the labour market and assistance in finding a job.
Register of the unemployed
As a rule, you register if you are not employed, self-employed or retired, if you are not in education or do not have the status of a farmer, or if you are eligible to receive unemployment benefit and want to look for a job actively.
Where and how to register?
Register with the local employment office of your choice. It makes sense to choose the office in the area where you will be looking for a job, or the one closest to where you live.
You can apply by filling in an application form to be entered in the register of jobseekers or register of the unemployed. You can submit the application online or in person.
