DRIM Project

Danube Region Information Platform for Economic Integration of Migrants

The Employment Service of Slovenia is a partner in the multicultural DRIM project focusing on creating the multilingual and transnational information platform called DANUBE COMPASS to be used by public institutions, NGOs, and newly arrived and resident migrants.

The purpose of the project

The project covers the whole area of Danube Region, which, after undergoing profound political transformations, is now facing diverse demographic, labor market and migration challenges, yet lacks the appropriate multi-level governance support structures, especially in terms of migrants' economic integration.

The DRIM project aims to address this challenge by creating the comprehensive, multilingual, and transnational information platform DANUBE COMPASS, which is to be used by public institutions, NGOs and newly arrived and resident migrants.

With the goal of achieving cohesion and economic development in the Danube region, DRIM's objective is to increase the capacity of public institutions for promoting migrants’ economic integration, understood as fair access to employment, work and skills enhancement.

Main outputs

  • DANUBE COMPASS information platform,
  • DANUBE COMPASS pilot actions,
  • training sessions with public institutions employees in Danube region,
  • national and transnational workshops with decision makers,
  • strategy for transnational information sharing to promote migrants integration.

Establishing the Danube Compass transnational information platform as the main product of DRIM project will be tested and mainstreamed to all levels of public institutions through workshops and trainings as well as promoted through a strategy addressing the importance of migrants access to information – so it will be supported by following activities and outputs:

  • conceptual framework for information sharing and the development of an info tool – DANUBE COMPASS,
  • info tool testing (pilot action),
  • learning interactions and evaluations to mainstream and disseminate DANUBE COMPASS,
  • a strategy that promotes and mainstreams information sharing as a necessary step for migrants' access to employment.
