Increasing Work Prospects of NEETs through capacity building and improved policy measures

The international project Interreg@Work4NEETs: Increasing Work Prospects of NEETs through capacity building and improved policy measures addresses the issue of young people aged 15 to 29 who are not employed, in education or training (NEET).

Project aims

The project aims to identify and exchange good practices to improve the current policy tools to facilitate young people who are not in education, employment or training – NEETs – to access meaningful opportunities to improve their skills and find suitable jobs in seven European regions.

 

Project objectives

The projects main objective is to trigger policy change in the partners' regions improving the implementation of policy instruments under Structural Funds programmes aimed to support disadvantaged groups integration in the labour market, particularly NEETs.   

The sub-objective is to contribute to capacity building and policy learning by supporting exchange of experience among stakeholders to improve services provided by the PES, enhance cooperation between public authorities, businesses, unions, youth NGOs and relevant institutions.

 

Key activities

Projects key activities will take place in 5 phases

  1. data collection,
  2. profiling,
  3. training and personalized support,
  4. work exposure and
  5. outreach strategies.

 

Partnership

Lead Partner:
JobsPlus (Malta)

International Partnership: 
Ministries and Employment Service Agencies from Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Luxembourg and Lithuania, Anci Toscana and the Associated Authority Region of Tuscany – both Italy.

 

National cooperation

In addition to the ESS, government and non-governmental organizations that are active in the field of NEETs also contribute to the project with good practices, knowledge, experience, and proposals for improvement.

Duration

From 1. 3. 2023 to 31. 5. 2027.

Financing

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg Europe 2021–2027 cross-border cooperation program in the amount of EUR 1,427,499 and EUR 220,686 for ESS.
