PROMO – Promotion of mobility and protection of cross-border workers PROMO Project – Promotion of mobility and protection of cross-border workers is carried out in partnership by the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia in Italy and the Employment Service of Slovenia. General objective of PROMO Project is to provide information and encourage work mobility between Slovenia and Italy. The Project envisages long-term increase of the links between demand and supply, increased transparency of the developments on the labour market, more effective protection of workers, and at the same time implementation of the active cross-border labour market policy. Specific objectives of the PROMO Project are as follows:
PROMO Project is carried out within Community initiative programme INTERREG IIIA Slovenia – Italy 2000–2006. Total value of PROMO Project is 740,609 euros.
The Project, taking place in the period from spring 2006 to the end of 2007, is carried out in the area along the inland and sea border between Italy and Slovenia, belonging to cross-border programme. In Slovenia Regional offices Koper, Nova Gorica and Kranj are involved, and in Italy Service for occupations and sectoral interventions at the General Directorate for labour, education, university and research of the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, covering the provinces of Trieste, Gorizia, Udine and Pordenone. Experts for the analysis of labour market and employment are involved in the content part of the Project, whereas Italian company INSIEL and IT department at the Employment Service of Slovenia take care about the implementation of the contents and web solutions. Different factors and limitations, such as cultural diversity and specifics of the environment, influencing the way and approaches to the partner's operations, differences in legal and other social arrangements, systems and ways of work, language barriers in communication, and similar play an important role in cooperation in international projects.
