A seminar on employment, training and active employment policy measures

At the seminar on employment, training and active employment policy measures, which was held in Belgrade on 29 and 30 October, lectures were given by the representatives of the European Training Foundation, the World Bank, the Polish Ministry of Labour and the Employment Service of Slovenia.

The seminar was attended by around 50 staff from the Serbian Ministry of Labour and Employment, employment service, university and non-governmental organisations. They were told about employment policy in association with European employment strategy, measures of active employment policy and the role of employment service in the implementation of a governmental employment policy.

Mr Jože Glazer, Director General of the Employment Service of Slovenia, was one of the lecturers at the seminar. The Slovenian presentation was received very well and was followed by many questions and increased interest in concrete co-operation with the Employment Service of Slovenia.

The future collaboration between the two Employment Services was also the topic of the talks between Director Generals of the Slovenian and Serbian Employment Services which took place after the seminar. During his meeting with the management and regional directors of the Serbian Employment Service Mr Jože Glazer described the Slovenian Employment Service and its activities.
