The delegation of Austrian employment service in Slovenia

On 1 and 2 February 2001 representatives of Austrian employment service (AMS) will visit the Employment Service of Slovenia. The Austrian delegation is expected to consist of Mr. Herbert Buchinger, Director General of AMS, Mr. Herbert Boehm, director of AMS's head office, Mrs. Barbara Rupprecht, responsible for international relations, Mr. Richard Bauer from the Eures network, Mr. Josef Sibitz, director of AMS's Kaernten Regional Office, and Mr. Hans Kaiser, director of AMS's Steiermark Regional Office.

On the first day they will meet the ESS's management – Mr. Jože Glazer, Director General of the ESS, Mrs. Mavricija Batič, deputy Director General, Mrs. Sonja Pirher and Mr. Janez Urbas, assistants to Director General, and others. Basic topics in introductory discussion between Austrian and Slovenian colleagues will be as follows:

• current situation on the labour market in both countries
• activities and organisational changes in the AMS and the ESS
• the Phare Twinning programme being implemented by the ESS
• a review of bilateral cooperation during last years
• an outline for future cooperation between Central European public employment services, in the Eures network and WAPES, and between Austrian and Slovenian border regional offices (Klagenfurt– Kranj, Graz– Maribor).

Next day the Austrian group will attend a meeting with directors of ESS regional offices and heads of the ESS's Central Office departments. After introduction by Mr. Jože Glazer, Mr. Herbert Buchinger will held a lecture titled "AMS Austria now and in the future", while Mr. Herbert Boehm is planned to talk about monitoring, controlling and benchmarking in the AMS. At the end, Austrian guests will visit the ESS's Ljubljana Local Office

and Vocational Information and Counselling Centre.
