Upon the invitation by the Director General of the Croatian Employment Service, Mrs. Sanja Crnković Pozaič, Mr. Jože Glazer, the Director General of the Employment Service of Slovenia participated in the meeting of the management and regional directors of the Croatian Employment Service which took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 5 - 6 May 2003. The meeting was held simultaneously with the workshop “The role of public employment service in enterprise restructuring”, organised as part of the co-operation of central European public employment services.

The meeting of the management and regional directors of the Croatian employment service was aimed at the review of its development in the past years and directions for further development. The ESS Director General Jože Glazer presented the developmental steps so far and future directions of the Employment Service of Slovenia in search of appropriate answers to the labour market challenges and methods to increase the efficiency of work of the Slovene Employment Service. The presentation was received with a positive response. Directors of individual regional offices of the Croatian Employment Service also expressed their wish to set up concrete contacts with the Slovene regional employment offices.
