European
Mobility Seminar
The seminar on European Mobility organised
by the National Resource Centre for Vocational Guidance in Ljubljana on 29 May was
attended by professional advisers from the Employment Service, counselling workers from
secondary schools, professional workers from the University, students, representatives of
youth centres and others. They had the opportunity to become acquainted with the activity
of the NRCVG Slovenia operating within the Employment Service of Slovenia, Slovenian
system of vocational orientation and Austrian, Hungarian and Italian system of education
and vocational training.
Employees of the Slovenian employment
service acquainted the participants of the seminar with the envisaged incorporation of
Slovenia into the Eures Network and with the role of Euroguidance Network whose member is
also NRCVG. Furthermore, the structure of ESTIA web pages was presented with information
and links in the area of education and vocational training in individual EU member states
and candidate states. The practical application of the Slovenian ESTIA web page, which was
a result of the project entitled Estia Multiplier II within the Leonardo da Vinci
programme, was demonstrated. It offers information on the system of vocational training
and education in Slovenia.
The representative of the Klagenfurt
employment office described the system of vocational orientation in Austria and provided
written information on education possibilities and the enrolment of foreign students at
Austrian universities. An adviser of the provincial service for educational and vocational
orientation from Trieste spoke about the development of vocational orientation in Italy,
in particular in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, while two employees of the Murska Sobota regional
office of the Employment Service of Slovenia spoke about the educational system and of
vocational orientation in Hungary.
