Supervisory body

The Supervisory body functions as an internal organizational unit of the ESS and carries out the activity of supervision in accordance with the normative acts from this area.

The supervision comprises four professionally rounded areas:

  • supervision of fulfilment of obligations of the unemployed,

  • supervision of fulfilment of obligations from contracts concluded by the ESS with legal and physical entities in connection with fulfilment of employment activities,

  • supervision of uniformity of the work of individuals or organizational units of the ESS with regulations and internal acts of the ESS,

  • supervision of implementation of activities co-financed by the European Social Fund.

In 2006, the Supervisory body concluded 602 supervisions, from which there were 493 supervisions of the unemployed persons, 31 supervisions of contracts, 1 exceptional supervision and 77 supervisions of the ESS activities. In the area of supervision of the unemployed, 271 proposals for action were issued, most of them regarding the removal from the register. In the area of the ESS activities, 32 recommendations and 10 proposals for elimination of ascertained irregularities were issued, mostly related to the unsuitable accounting records and documenting of expenses, as well as incomplete provision of information to the public regarding the financing with the ESS resources.
